Mail and Package Acceptance Policy

This Mail and Package Acceptance Policy ("Policy") explains how mail and package deliveries are handled at Early Birds, LLC. Please read this Policy carefully to understand your responsibilities regarding deliveries.

No Staffed Mail or Package Handling Services

Important: Early Birds does not provide staffed mail or package handling services.

  • Early Birds may not be present to receive deliveries at any given time
  • There is no reception desk or staff dedicated to accepting packages
  • Early Birds does not guarantee that any mail, parcels, or couriered items will be accepted, signed for, or secured
  • You are solely responsible for coordinating deliveries with carriers

Your Responsibility for Deliveries

As a tenant or member, you are responsible for managing your own mail and package deliveries:

  • Coordinate with carriers: Arrange delivery times when you will be present to receive items
  • Signature-required items: Ensure that items requiring a signature are delivered when you or an authorized person is present
  • Track your deliveries: Use carrier tracking to monitor when deliveries are expected
  • Provide delivery instructions: Give carriers specific instructions for delivery (e.g., call upon arrival, leave at specific location)
  • Be present for deliveries: Plan to be available when expecting important packages

Optional Mail/Parcel Receipt Services

Early Birds offers an optional mail and parcel receipt service for an additional monthly fee:

  • This service is available for $25 per month
  • Must be elected and paid for as additional rent or membership fee
  • Contact Early Birds to add this service to your lease or membership

Limited Scope of Mail/Parcel Receipt Service

If you elect the optional mail/parcel receipt service, please understand the following limitations:

  • Early Birds' role is limited to providing a delivery location
  • This is not a full-service mail handling or package management service
  • Early Birds will make reasonable efforts to accept deliveries when present
  • Early Birds is not required to be present at all times to receive packages

No Liability for Loss, Theft, or Damage

Important Limitation of Liability:

Whether or not you have elected mail/parcel receipt services, Early Birds shall have no liability for:

  • Loss: Lost packages or mail
  • Theft: Stolen packages or mail
  • Damage: Damaged packages or contents
  • Delay: Delayed deliveries or missed pickups
  • Misdelivery: Packages delivered to wrong location or person

This limitation applies whether the loss, theft, damage, delay, or misdelivery occurs before or after receipt by Early Birds.

You Assume All Risk

By having packages delivered to the building, you assume all risk associated with such items. This includes risk of loss, theft, damage, or other issues. We strongly recommend:

  • Purchasing insurance for valuable items
  • Using signature-required delivery for important packages
  • Requiring carriers to call or text you upon arrival
  • Tracking all deliveries closely
  • Being present to receive deliveries whenever possible
  • Filing claims directly with the carrier if items are lost or damaged

Using the Building as Your Business Address

Tenants and members shall not list the building as their official business address with any governmental agency unless they have elected and paid for mail/parcel receipt services.

This includes:

  • Business registrations with the Secretary of State
  • Business licenses
  • Tax registrations
  • Professional licenses
  • Other governmental filings or registrations

If you have not elected mail/parcel receipt services, you must use a different address (such as a home address, PO Box, or registered agent service) for official governmental correspondence.

Unclaimed Packages

If packages are left in common areas or at the building entrance:

  • Early Birds is not responsible for monitoring or securing such packages
  • Packages may be vulnerable to theft or damage
  • Unclaimed packages may be returned to sender or disposed of at Early Birds' discretion
  • You should retrieve any delivered packages immediately upon notification

Large or Heavy Items

For large or heavy deliveries (furniture, equipment, etc.):

  • You are responsible for being present to receive and move such items
  • Early Birds is not responsible for moving or storing large items
  • Coordinate delivery times to ensure you or your team can receive and handle the items
  • Ensure delivery vehicles can access the building and loading areas
  • Do not block common areas with deliveries
